About Me

Thank you for stopping by; I am excited for us to connect! For those that don’t know me, I am a Maine certified school teacher who is passionate, driven, and child-centered. I have a Bachelors in Elementary and Middle School Education with a concentration in English and a Masters in Educational Leadership. I have experience working alongside students in all sorts of settings. I started my career as a literacy specialist in an urban public school. I then tutored and became my town’s reading teacher for their academic summer camp. I moved into the classroom and taught second and third grades in both private and public schools for several years. I was awarded Teacher of the Year and have had the opportunity to speak at multiple conferences for the Maine Department of Education. I love bringing learning to life and equipping students, families, and fellow teachers to best support our children.

My educational philosophy is to always be mindful of the whole child. Children need to feel safe, loved, and excited to learn as they dive into their studies. They need to be seen and individually supported, encouraged, and challenged. I believe learning happens each moment of the day. Children are continuously absorbing and taking in the world around them - and this doesn’t just happen in a traditional classroom. Recognizing that children are learning in their backyards, in their homes, at the grocery store, at the public library, and at the park llows us adults to engage our young learners by entering into their experiences to foster curiosity and discovery. Childhood is beautiful and special! Learning should be invigorating and exciting for our children. I strive to incorporate creativity, joy, and curiosity into everything I do for the students I work with, and I feel privileged to work alongside your family as you homeschool this upcoming year.
